The biggest shopping weekend of the year is finally here! Below are our best practices to get ready for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Also, make sure to check out our Holiday Marketing Kit for customizable fliers, holiday press release templates and more.
- Set Up Featured Merchants- Set up the "Featured Merchants and Special Offers" section in time for the weekend when shoppers will be out and about. Shoppers are looking for discounts and deals this weekend and this section allows your participating merchants to set up special offers for customers redeeming your gift card.
- Push the "Shop Local Movement"- Encourage your community to purchase your gift card and shop at your participating businesses for Small Business Saturday by posting on your social media and emailing your contact list and previous purchasers. Include any special offers or promotions you may be running and stress how your Community Card makes the perfect holiday gift because it also supports the businesses that make your town special.
- Refresh your in-store signage- Make sure your businesses have in-store signage and if they don't, you'll find customizable templates here.
- Train your merchants- Make sure merchants are ready to redeem gift cards during the Thanksgiving Weekend rush. Send the merchant training video via email with a reminder that this weekend will be busy. If businesses have changed their POS systems or have more than one POS, they can request new Activation Cards by emailing support@yiftee.com.
- Add more merchants to your program- Follow up with merchants who haven't run their Activation Cards. You can send emails from Yiftee by clicking "Send All Activation Cards" and the reminders will only go to merchants that haven't activated. You can also run a "Location Report" in your "Manage Locations" tab to get individual Activation Card links and email them to each merchant personally or go door to door. Encourage businesses who haven't signed up to go to the bottom of your gift card page and sign themselves up. Yiftee will automatically send them Activation Cards.
- Use Order Desk- Set up a booth at a community event this weekend and sell your gift cards on the spot using "Order Desk." This new feature is now available in all Community Card portals and you can learn how to use it here.
