Do your Merchants need a refresher for their new (and old) staff on how to redeem cards? Do you need help getting more Merchants to join your program? You're not alone! We highly recommend these Best Practices:
- Real Money! Do you have cards outstanding or funding for a bonus program? Tell the merchants that there are thousands of dollars in sales already made, waiting to be redeemed at their stores. Activate now to get their fair share of it! To get the actual amount, run the Gifts Sold report and you can see the total sold to date and amount redeemed. The difference is still out there waiting to be spent!
- New Customers!- We've found that 51% of card holders end up trying new places and that customers with gift cards end up overspending by 30%. Share this information with your local businesses to get them excited.
- Personalized Webinar- We offer merchant webinars in both English and Spanish. We'll explain how Community Cards work to your merchants as well as answer their questions. Email us to set up a time and date.
- Training Materials- Customize and send the "How To Redeem" document and "Merchant Overview" document, along with this merchant training video. Post the "How to Redeem" document where employees will see it.
- Program Visibility.-Do you have window clings and point of purchase signage? If so, make sure they're visible in the stores so that employees as well as customers will see it. If not, we can help you create them. Click here and we'll design them, get them printed and drop ship them to you just for the cost of printing ($500 for enough for 100 merchants). Or you can design your own in-store signage (click here for free templates) and print yourself locally.
- Go door to door- Merchants will feel more comfortable having you there to run their Activation Cards and answer any questions they may have. Run the Location Report (in the "manage locations" tab). It has all the links to the Activation Cards in one spreadsheet. You can bring a tablet and open them up from there for each merchant or print them out in advance.
- Influential Merchants- We've seen that reaching out to your town's most influential merchants and getting them to sign up first and helping you recruit other merchants really helps get businesses on board quickly.
- Reward merchants with gift cards- Offer merchants a free gift card when they run their Activation Cards as an incentive to have them activate quickly.
